Having lived in London the last eight years, it’s not often that we need to stay anywhere else in the city other than our flat. However, every now and then we have the opportunity to have an overnight staycation in London which is such a treat. It actually feels like you can make the most of that evening without having the need to think about how your going to travel back home in rush hour. It’s the perfect excuse to relax and sit back and enjoy.
The opportunity to stay at Rockwell East came at the right time, as me and Jonny had a busy few weeks, so we booked dinner around the area the same evening.
Rockwell East is a fairly new design-led aparthotel, opened in September last year. It’s situated just a short walk away from Aldgate station and the Tower of London. The aparthotel is beautiful, modern and has everything you could possibly need. Rockwell East has a total of 57 rooms, split across 35 studios and 22 one-bedroom apartments.
We stayed in a one-bedroom apartment which featured a hallway, a bathroom with a shower which was stocked up on white company toiletries, a separate kitchen/lounge area then down to the bedroom. The decor was contemporary and modern, with bright and minimalistic artwork and furnishings.
Breakfast the next morning was just what we needed and was served in the main restaurant. Guests are able to choose from a buffet table (filled with pastries, yoghurts, fruit, toast, jams, granola) and also the cooked breakfast option where you can help yourself to the buffet. We didn’t opt for the cooked breakfast, however we enjoyed some pastries and some yoghurt and fruit.
We had a great stay at Rockwell East, it felt like a quick stay but none the less a lovely overnight stay. The rooms were very comfortable and decorated and furnished beautifully. The service throughout our stay was faultless and the staff were very friendly. If you’re thinking about visiting London or any Londoners looking for somewhere to stay in East London, then look no further than Rockwell East.
