Brunch at Farmopolis with Niomi Smart

Niomi Smart teamed up with Farmopolis Cafe on the weekend to host an exclusive Eat Smart Brunch Banquet as part of the Floating Table Series serving a banquet style feast full of brunch recipes from her cookbook: Eat Smart.

And of course being a weekend, brunch is always on the cards.

Farmopolis Cafe is situated on the Greenwich Peninsula as part of the wider green space regeneration project, where Farmopolis will offer a year- round programme of creative workshops, supper clubs, live music and talks transforming the Jetty into a hub of creativity. Tens of thousands of plants left over from the Chelsea Flower Show were rehomed at Farmopolis as you can see from the beautiful interior.

We started off with a refreshing Cucumber & Melon Muddler and Pina Coolada mocktail. There’s nothing quite like home-made jam, especially one that is good for you. First up was Niomi’s chia jams with rye toast. There was a choice of strawberry, orange & apricot and plum and ginger, all full of sweet, gooey goodness.Next was Niomi’s Swiss Bircher Muesli which was full of deliciousness. Topped with sliced banana, pomegranate seeds and flaked almonds. I can see this recipe being a favourite of mine, when I know I’m going to be running around the next morning but don’t want to miss out on having something healthy and filling to kickstart my day. It was finished with Niomi’s healthy full English breakfast recipe. It came with garlic mushrooms, grilled vine tomatoes, baked beans and tofu scramble, the baked beans and scrambled tofu being a favourite of mine. The Floating Table series will feature 6 of the most exciting young Chefs in London taking over the Jetty from mid November into Winter with communal feasts and supperclubs. Open six days a week from Tuesday to Sunday.
