Where to eat in Seminyak

The food in Seminyak is a food heaven. Filled with a number of different cafes/restaurants and bars. I had a long list of places that had been recommended to me and we had four days to try and visit as many as possible. It’s so easy to eat healthy in Bali as there are so many great vegan/vegetarian cafes around. I also had some of the best Italian and Mexican cuisine whilst there. It can be a bit overwhelming deciding where to eat, therefore I thought I would make it easier for you by putting this blog post together.

Kynd Cafe – a popular Instagram spot in Seminyak. This was a two minute walk from the villa we were staying at. We went here a couple of times, be prepared to queue, not for very long though as it moves quickly. The menu is vegan and one of the most wonderful vegan menu’s I’ve seen, it’s variety of dishes will leave you spoilt for choice. Their food is the definition of beautiful. I’d recommend the famous smoothie bowls, you can get it personalised with any lettering of your choice. The gourmet toasts are also super delicious!

Cafe Organic – A must visit brunch spot in Seminyak, offers delicious vegetarian and vegan dishes using fresh, locally farmed produce. I enjoyed the soul bowl filled with raw zuchinni pasta, cherry tomatoes and avocado basil cashew cream. Their juices are worth ordering, so refreshing and filling. Every corner of the cafe is so beautiful and is so unique, with it’s marble top tables and living green walls.  The most popular dish is their acai bowls served in coconuts, which I saw a lot of people in the restaurant had ordered.

Motel Mexicalo – You have to visit here. Serving the most amazing authentic Mexican cuisine, delicious margaritas and has colourful interiors that will make you want to stay in their all night. If you’re looking for a quiet dinner Motel Mexicalo isn’t the one. It’s lively music and dance floor had us dancing most of the night. We did the set menu for two people and I’m so glad we did, the small plates were delicious. We had everything from nachos, fish tacos, quesadillas, tostadas and aguachile.

The Fat Turtle – We stumbled across this place, as it was next to the hotel we were staying at. Very relaxed cafe and wasn’t too busy either. We ordered the avocado and eggs on toast & banana bread french toast which was to die for. They’re famous for their red velvet pancakes, which I saw someone eating and they also looked delicious.

Dough Darlings – If you’re a fan of doughnuts, like me, stop by dough darlings for an afternoon pick me up and a coffee. Baked fresh daily, these doughnuts sell out fast so you have to time it well when passing by. There’s a variety of different flavours including sugar & cinnamon, salted caramel almond, new york cheesecake and many more. I went for the salted caramel, let’s just say it lasted seconds.

Mad Pops – It’s one of the most popular ice cream shops in Seminyak. f you’re looking for some great gelato then Mad Pops is the perfect spot. It’s known for it’s trendy ‘ice ice baby’ sign and it’s delicious vegan gelato. It’s made with local, seasonal fruits and has a variety of flavours. I had the mint choc chip & salted caramel flavour, it was delish!

Da Maria – is a ultra hip Italian restaurant serving the most epic pizzas. Great atmosphere and it’s a good spot to stay after dinner for some late night cocktails.

Coffee Cartel – This cafe is an absolute gem. Their menu is extensive and delicious. The big banana boss protein shake is great (made with peanut butter & coconut milk). It has cute and very instagrammable interiors and top tip round the corner of the cafe they have the most picture famous wall where you can take photos and gram them. You can get you’re coffee’s personalised by choosing what you would like printed on them. As you can see from the picture I chose to get ‘Bali Vibes’ on mine. This cafe is one for top of the list if you’re ever visiting Bali.

Bottega Italiana – a great authentic Italian restaurant situated on the Seminyak strip. You can create your own pasta dish from choosing from a selection of fresh handmade pastas and sauces made daily in-house. Bottega will cure any cravings for Italian food whilst your staying in Bali.

Hope you enjoyed my recommendations.
