Birthday Tea At Fortnum & Mason

Birthday Tea At Fortnum & Mason

I love afternoon tea, I’ve been lucky enough to experience quite a few. However, afternoon tea at Fortnum & Mason is my favourite out of them all. It’s stunning, elegant decor and relaxing environment makes you feel really at home. Fortnum & Mason presents it’s tea in the Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon on the fourth floor. Fortnum’s offers four options for afternoon tea: classic, savoury, vegetarian or high tea.

London Eats: October

London Eats: October

Polpo  –  I visited Polpo for dinner a couple of weekends a go in Covent Garden. There are three more situated in London, one in Notting Hill, Soho & Chelsea. Polpo is a bàcaro. This is a Venetian word to describe a humble restaurant serving simple food and good, young Italian wines. They offer lots of delicious small plates, perfect for sharing which means you get to try a variety of dishes. We decided to choose a number of dishes. Highlights being the lamb and slow roast garlic meatballs which melted in your mouth and tasted absolutely delicious. I never thought a favourite of mine would be a vegetarian dish, however the squash, gnocchi, sage & walnut butter I totally would recommend.

Israeli Food In London

Israeli Food In London

Bala Baya brings a taste of Israel to London with some delicious small plates, great cocktails and a modern, trendy feel.  It’s situated a couple of minutes walk from Southwark station, the restaurant is located within the old arches, giving a cool, industrial vibe. Head Chef Eran Tibi’s, describes the restaurant as a poem to Tel Aviv – It’s about an honest love between food and people. His love of Tel Aviv and its many unique eating habits has inspired him to create a menu that mimics a day in the life of the “White City”. It was so delicious, I’ve never experienced food quite like it.

Best Brunch In Walthamstow

Best Brunch In Walthamstow

Exploring a new area is my favourite thing to do. I thought I would share with you my favourite brunch/coffee spots in Walthamstow as I recently moved close to the area. Let me know if there’s anywhere you’d recommend too; I always love a new suggestion to try at the weekends.56 St James – Perched on the corner of St James Street and Station Road. Famous for their epic sourdough toasties and legendary weekend brunches. Everything I’ve sampled has been wonderful. On a Friday evening it serves cocktails and has a late license until 11.30pm which is great if you live in the area and want to stay local.

Best Brunch In London

Best Brunch In London

A couple of Saturday’s a go, I dined at the Intercontinental where Theo Randall has recently launched ‘La Dolce Vita’, a weekend brunch menu with an Italian twist. I’m a massive fan of brunch and Italy, therefore these combined together I was very much looking forward to trying. In typical Italian style the menu is divided into courses, antipasti, primi, secondi and dolci. We started off with a glass of prosecco which is unlimited for the first two hours. We then helped ourselves to the antipasti dishes, which had a selection of Italian salads, cured meats, cheeses and Italian bread.

Brunch at Dirty Bones

Brunch at Dirty Bones

Last weekend my instagram (@eatinguplondon for those of you who would like to know!) was quite the centre of attention as I had lots of comments and emails asking where I was for brunch. It’s amazing how much attention a bit of egg yolk and waffles have and I don’t blame you for it, it was all delicious. It was a lazy start to the day and we wandered into the cold and sunny air and made it to Shoreditch just in time for the new brunch menu at Dirty Bones. Although passing the Dirty Bones restaurant in Soho and Kensington many times, I had never been before and was excited to try the New York – inspired comfort food menu.
