My Top Five Brunches In London

I’ve been living in London for nearly six years and brunch just seems to be getting bigger and better, Londoner’s love nothing more than a good brunch. So if your in need of some brunch recommendations – this post is for you! I thought I’d start of with what is my favourite meal of the day – breakfast. Let me know if theres anywhere you’d recommend too; I always love a new suggestion to try at the weekend.

Sundays, 169 Hemingford Road, N1 1DA. If I had to pick my favourite place for brunch, this would definitely be it. It’s tucked away in North London, the seating is sparse so be prepared to wait, however the brunch is something else. A couple of my picks from the menu are the courgette fritters, avocado, halloumi, poached egg, yoghurt and dukkah. On the sweeter side, the brioche french toast, vanilla creme fraiche, banana and salted caramel is an absolute winner in my eyes. They usually have a few healthy, homemade options on the menu too, so if  gluten free and vegan options are up your street then its definitely worth a visit.

The Breakfast Club, there are more than a few of these dotted around the city. It serves classic American brunch food. Always buzzing and the staff are always fun and friendly. It’s an understatement to say ‘one is spoilt for choice’ and making a decision is never easy when it comes to the menu. From the classic eggs benedict, American pancakes or breakfast burrito, these are some of my chosen picks. Oh and the orange juice is squeezed in house, thumbs up.

Dishoom, a modern indian resturant offers a cheap brunch with a twist. There are now four branches of Bombay Cafe around London; King’s Cross, Covent Garden, Shoreditch and Carnaby. The dishoom naan roll are a classic to order and the big bombay is a popular choice. Ohhhhh and the chocolate chai is incredible. The atmosphere is always rocking. It’s busy. Like real busy, but where isn’t where a good brunch is being served in London, therefore I’d recommend going at odd times to avoid the rush.

Caravan, with locations on Exmouth Market and also Granary Square in Kings Cross. It’s a great place to drop by for coffee, Caravan is one of the only brunch spots in the country to have an on site coffee roastery. The brunch menu is a big draw too. I love the kapnisto sausage, aubergine puree, poached egg, yoghurt on sourdough and also the baked eggs and coconut bread are delicious. The buzzy atmosphere and laid – back vibe is a great choice for a morning spot of brunch.

The Good Life Eatery, one in Chelsea and the other in Belgravia. If you fancy something speedy and juices are your kind of thing, then I’d recommend swinging by to pick up your morning dose of something green (but tasty at the same time). They have home-made healthy snacks, cold pressed juices, super food smoothies and wholesome dishes for brunch. I love the chestnut and almond waffles washing it down with a berry sunrise smoothie.

Have you got any favourite brunch spots in London? G xx
