My Top Five Dinner Spots In London

So I’ve tackled my favourite spots to get a London based bite for breakfast and lunch and now it’s time for dinner. You’re spoilt for choice when it comes to places for dinner in London as there is so much choice. As you know eating out is my favourite treat, I thought I’d share with you my top five places for dinner in the big smoke, just in case you ever find yourself around these parts.

Shoryu Ramen, If you find yourself near Oxford Street or Piccadilly Circus, walk to Shoryu. You can pick from a selection of authentic ramen dishes that are super delicious. I love the shoryu ganso tonkotsu which is their signature ramen dish. Don’t forget to ask for a refill of noodles if you run out too quickly.

Honest Burger, You see those epic burgers below, I say serves the best burgers in London. With the first Honest Burger opening in Brixton there are now twelve scattered over London. It’s cheap and tasty down to every mouthful, I always go for the honest which is beef, red onion relish, smoked bacon, mature cheddar, pickled cucumber and lettuce. All burgers are served with rosemary salted chips, I then also get a side of onion rings and chipolte mayonnaise. They also offer gluten free buns and have a vegetarian option.

Duck and Waffle, Heron Tower, EC2N 4AY. A short walk from Liverpool Street station, this is the UK’s highest restaurant based on the 40th floor of the Heron Tower. I’ve been lucky enough to visit here a few times, it’s definitely a place where it is a ‘treat’ to go to in my eyes and for a special occasion. I’d definitely book here in advance as you could be waiting a month or two to get a table. The view is beaut, but the dinner even better. Favourite dishes for me has to be the most popular dish called the duck and waffle which is crispy leg confit, fried duck egg and mustard maple syrup.

Som Saa, 43a Commercial Street, E1 6BD. This is where you need to head if you’re in the mood for some authentic thai food. Since living in London, I’ve found it hard to find proper authentic thai food, Som Saa has only been opened a couple of months and the flavours and dishes they serve is like being back in Thailand. They’ve got it spot on. Thai food is all about sharing, so when I went here with friends we practically ordered the whole menu, the gaeng hung lay (burmese style curry) and the nahm dtok pla thort (deep fried seabass) stood out for me. Make sure you leave some room for the kluey thort nahm dan beep (palm sugar ice cream with grilled banana)

Hawksmoor, This place gets busy in the week and weekend evenings, so it’s definitely one to book. The steak here is insane, I always go for the porter house steak which is a thick cut and has much more of the tenderloin. This with some creamed spinach and some triple cooked chips is what I always order.

I’d love to know if you’ve tried any of these places in the comments below 🙂 G xx
